Ginger Snaps

3/4 cup shortening
1 tablespoon molasses
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoons ginger
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg

Mix all together. Roll into balls and dip in sugar. Place on cookie sheet 2" apart. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
